Co-financing Loan Agreement Signed for Parsa, Chitwan Water Supply and Sanitation Project under Co-financing

The executive director of Town Development Fund Mr. Maniram Singh Mahat and the chairperson of Parsa Water User and Sanitation Committee (WUSC)”, Chitwan, Mr. Sherman Tamang signed a loan agreement of NRs. 27,146,750.00 for “Parsa Sahalagani Khanepani tatha sarsafai Aayojana, Chitwan” under the Co-financing Water Supply and Sanitation Project on 6 September 2018 (BS 2075/05/21) at Town Development Fund Office, Kathmandu. The total loan amount is 25% of the contract cost of NRs.108,587,000.00 The rest 70% will be provided by the Government of Nepal through co-financing project and the remaining 5% will be the matching fund by WUSC as an upfront cash.

The project service area covers wards 5 and 12 of Khairahani Municipality and ward 19 of Ratnanagar Municipality with 24 hours continuous supply of potable water, as recommended by Nepal Drinking Water Quality Standard (NDWQS) guidelines. The project will directly benefit the population of 11,013 living in 1,372 households now, fulfilling the estimated demand. The major components of the project includes deep Tube Well, Overhead Reservoir, Valve Chamber, Electrical Facilities/ Pumps, Transmission and Distribution Network, House Connections, Appurtenances, Generator / Operator house, Lab room, O&M Equipment and Tools etc. The project is expected to be completed by 31 October 2018.
